Compare two versions line by line, or compare two valid JSON values by structure. JSON formatting and object key order alone do not count as value changes. Paste both versions and choose text or JSON. Text mode compares lines. JSON mode compares values: object key order is ignored, array order matters, and formatting alone is not reported as a change. Text mode has explicit line and comparison limits. Text comparison is limited to 1,000,000 characters per side, 4,000 lines and 4 million line-pair comparisons. JSON comparison is limited to 100 levels and 1,000 differences. Duplicate JSON keys are rejected because their meaning can vary by parser.

Quick answer
Compare two versions line by line, or compare two valid JSON values by structure. JSON formatting and object key order alone do not count as value changes.
The page and its assets load from the site; this operation uses your entered values only in this browser and does not send them to a calculation endpoint.
How to use it
Paste both versions and choose text or JSON. Text mode compares lines. JSON mode compares values: object key order is ignored, array order matters, and formatting alone is not reported as a change. Text mode has explicit line and comparison limits.
Limits
Text comparison is limited to 1,000,000 characters per side, 4,000 lines and 4 million line-pair comparisons. JSON comparison is limited to 100 levels and 1,000 differences. Duplicate JSON keys are rejected because their meaning can vary by parser.
Frequently asked questions
How does JSON comparison handle object key order?
Object keys are compared as named properties, so changing their order is not a value change. Array order remains significant.
Does JSON mode accept invalid JSON?
No. Both sides must parse as JSON. Use text mode for incomplete snippets or non-JSON text.
How does text mode compare versions?
It compares exact lines and marks inserted and deleted lines. It does not calculate word-level changes within a line.
Are my inputs sent to a server?
The comparison runs in this browser after the page loads; neither version is sent to a comparison service.
