Frequently asked questions
What does the calculation include?
The URL receives the UTM fields you enter; these labels help identify campaign traffic when analytics are configured. Non-empty fields replace matching UTM parameters; blank fields keep any existing value. Do not put names, email addresses, or other personal data in query parameters.
Which campaign values should I enter?
Use utm_source for the source, such as newsletter; utm_medium for the channel, such as email; and utm_campaign for the campaign name. Optional utm_content distinguishes links or creative versions. Use consistent spelling and capitalization.
What happens to parameters already in my URL?
Non-UTM query parameters remain. A non-empty UTM field replaces the matching parameter; leaving a field blank keeps its existing value. Review the complete generated URL before using it.
