Calculate the time between two clock times in hours and minutes, with an explicit next-day option.

Uses clock times only: no dates, time zones, daylight-saving changes or breaks. Without the next-day option, the end cannot be earlier than the start.

Calculations run only in this page’s memory. This tool does not send or save your entries or results.

Enter start and end times in 24-hour HH:MM format. Select the next-day option if the end time is on the following day.

How it works

Convert each time to minutes after midnight, then subtract start from end. Add 1440 minutes when the next-day option is selected. Equal times give 0 hours, or 24 hours with that option.

Example

22:30 to 06:15 the next day = 7 hours 45 minutes, or 465 minutes.
